An Assortment of Hats, Color and Veggies - Tana, Madagascar

Every. Single. Photo that I took in Madagascar was a snapshot into someone else’s existence. An existence that effected me so deeply, that I feel obligated to share with the rest of you. An existence that is so far removed from the luxuries and privileges of the Western world, that it's impossible not to feel a heightened awareness of your own position on this earth when you look at the photos . It is my hope, that when you look at - these faces, these colors, these landscapes, these villages, these relationships - that you reflect on what it truly means to be human and for a moment, and participate in the beauty, pain and joy that is Madagascar.

The trip to Madagascar -
In June of 2023, I joined the team of Conservation Fusion, and their director Susie Louis, to embark on a 6 day road trip to the remote village of Lavavolo, on the South Western tip of Madagascar. The mission of the trip - a Dream School beautification mural!
The Dream School is a mecca of hope for the Lavavolo people. With a literacy rate of under 10%, the village is in dire need of assistance. The Dream School is making it possible to redirect this course, by providing the children of Lavavolo with educational opportunities they’ve never before had. Kids are completing their primary education now and moving onto secondary school!
The Dream School mural was a gift to this precious community, because everyone deserves to be celebrated through art!
